Biography
Amber-Jayne
Stirling lives in Newcastle
NSW. Amber-Jayne has held 5
successful solo exhibitions
in Newcastle and Sydney and
has taken part in many group
shows and shown at the Sydney
and Art Show and Art Melbourne
for the last 2 years.
Amber-Jayne creates powerful
representational images in her
own unique style. She is well
known for creating large sensual
oil paintings of flowers &
fruit, which entice the viewer
through exotic images depicting
luscious ripe flesh. Amber-Jayne’s
work uses the effects of chiaroscuro
to create both drama and realism.
Amber-Jayne's
most recent work draws inspiration
from iconic female portraits
by Italian masters of the Renaissance
and Baroque periods. She has
successfully created works that
combine classical techniques
and large scale contemporary
schemata. Within this format
these images are both powerful
yet serene.
Collections
and Commissions
Amber-Jayne’s work is held in
collections in Australia and
overseas, and she has completed
commissions for buyers in Switzerland,
UK and the United States. In
2005 she was commissioned by
Australia Post to design a Christmas
stamp with a painting of The
Madonna and Child. This painting
is currently held in their archives.
